Freshmen Ashley Novak (25th, 19:45.6) and Natalie Cupial (98th, 21:09.8) discuss personal-best times in the frosh-soph race at the Richard Spring Invite Saturday, Sept. 15 at Peoria’s Detweiller Park.

Novak was the top finisher for the Trojans and with her top-30 finish at the frosh-soph level, the team’s only individual medalist among the three races. Novak was 4.5 seconds ahead of 30th place.
Cupial was the Trojans’ No. 3 finisher behind freshman Caroline Scott (76th, 20:53.3).
The Trojans were 17th (478 points) with just the minimum five entries to achieve a team total. Freshman Emily Pierce (130th, 21:32.4) and sophomore Liberty Soelberg (158th, 22:05.7) were their No. 4-5 finishers.
